Hi, welcome to my home on the web!
I post, somewhat infrequently, about whatever I’m interested in. Currently as of 2026, I’ve been into sustainability in a broad sense: climate change, biodiversity loss, historical collapse of civilizations, and increasing difficulties with extracting resources. From my perspective, it looks like we humans and other life on this planet are in for a bumpy ride over the next century or two. I want to do something about it and connect with others who are making a difference.
I have a life-long love of science and am a physicist by training. I have a PhD in physics from NYU where I studied optical forces on micro-beads. After graduating, I wanted to do more applied work, which led to working at Spheryx, which is an early-stage company commercializing holographic particle characterization. This new technology is used for analyzing things like protein aggregates in protein based medicines. Now, I’m vice-president of research and development at Spheryx, and I enjoy working with a small team solving problems and figuring out how to do new things.
But I’m feeling called to move on to the next adventure, particularly to contribute towards sustainability. I’d love to join a co-op or non-profit that is working in a related field such as climate science, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, or free and open source software. More generally, I’m interested in organizations that contribute to the commons, the shared wealth that benefits all. The more we share, the less need to extract resources from Nature. If you know of an opportunity like this, please reach out. If it is helpful, my resume can be found here.
If you are interested in starting an organization like this, maybe I could help! I joined Spheryx right after it started, so I have experience with starting up an organization. I enjoy working with teams to find effective and enjoyable ways of working together, while achieving organizational aims. If this sounds interesting, then let’s talk to see if collaboration would make sense.
Being a dad and a husband is a big part of my life right now. Our two boys keep me busy with all sorts of play and games. I try to bring a spirit of playfulness and curiosity to whatever I do.
